The short answer
Bring the graphics installer into the paint selection before approving a branded wall. Have both trades identify their proposed materials, then obtain the graphics installer's assessment of the actual painted surface. Release the full graphic order only when the agreed compatibility questions are resolved; a colour approval does not answer them.
Specify the wall behind the artwork
A Saskatoon reception refresh can involve two separate purchases: a painted wall and an adhesive brand graphic. Start with the artwork boundary, the intended display period and the person ordering the graphic. Give the graphics installer the proposed primer, finish, sheen and wall material before those selections become fixed. Ask what information is still needed to assess the combination.
3M's wall-application bulletin explains that adhesive performance varies between paints; no single film works best across every paint tested. It directs installers toward wall-specific adhesion assessment. That is a reason to coordinate the two specifications, not a reason to reject every low-VOC finish or assume a stronger adhesive solves any mismatch.

Give the installer a representative surface
Ask the graphics supplier to define the trial area, assessment procedure and timing for the proposed film. The painter should provide the actual coating record and identify any differences between walls. Obtain permission for the trial and agree how its location will be restored if necessary. Leave cleaning chemicals and test execution with the responsible installer.
A loose artwork proof answers a design question. The on-wall review answers whether the proposed materials can proceed together at that location. Record which film and painted area were assessed, who evaluated the result and any conditions attached. Do not extend a result from one wall to a different finish without the installer's review. This handoff format is editorial guidance, not a replacement for manufacturer instructions.
Put a release point before the full order
Keep artwork approval, wall readiness and graphic production as separate entries in the project schedule. Ask when the supplier needs a compatibility decision before making the complete graphic. If the result is unresolved, obtain a revised material proposal or a separately assessed display alternative before committing to the full production order.
Consider an illustrative office where the reception artwork is approved but the installer has not assessed a recently changed paint product. The next action is to resolve that change, not to call the approved design proof permission to install. Record any cost and scheduling effects with the parties who can authorize them. No particular waiting period or installation success is promised by this example.
Decide who handles the eventual removal
Before purchase, ask the graphics supplier what removal limitations apply to the selected film and painted substrate. Obtain the owner's decision about possible restoration work and the party responsible for arranging it. A temporary marketing campaign should have an end-of-use plan as well as an installation date; do not describe removability as a guarantee of an undamaged wall.
Save the paint identity, graphic product, trial findings and removal advice together. When a later campaign changes the film, return to the graphics supplier for review. Bring the planned graphic area into the commercial interior painting brief early. This guide organizes the trade handoff and does not claim that PainterzRus manufactures, tests or installs adhesive graphics.
Keep this for your project
Your planning checklist
- Identify the graphic boundary and intended display period.
- Share the exact paint and film proposals between trades.
- Authorize a representative assessment with a defined restoration arrangement.
- Resolve compatibility before releasing full graphic production.
- Assign removal and any later wall-restoration responsibility.
Does approval of the printed design mean the painted wall is ready?
No. Artwork approval settles the visual design. The graphics installer still needs to assess the proposed film against the actual wall finish and resolve the agreed release conditions.
